국제권장 규격으로 스위스 제네바에서 채택
IEC의 목적은 모든 전기공학적 표준화 문제와 기타 관련 문제에 대해 국제적 협력을 증진하고 세계시장의 요구에 효율적으로 대처하는 것.
IEC 활동은 전기전자분야의 표준화를 이룩하기 위해 회원국가와의 국제적 협력하에 IEC규격을 제정하는 것이며, 이와 같이 제정된 규격을 세계 각국에 보급하여 모든 국가가 전기, 전자제품 및 이와 관련한 사항들을 이 규격에 맞게 표준화함으로써 전기, 전자제품에 대한 품질과 안전성을 확보하고 나아가 국제적 유통을 원활히 하는 데 그 목적이 있음.
전동기의 절연, 취부 치수의 계열, 축단위계열 등이며 실제의 운용에 있어 적절히 사용하도록 함

인덕션모터의 IEC 전압 및 주파수 변동표준: IEC60034-1에 따라 전압은 +/-10%, 주파수는 +/-5%, 두 가지를 복합하여서 +/- 10%.
IEC규격에 따른 surge withstand 시험을 100% 실시하고 있으며, 검증된 절연 syetem으로 별도의 S/A,S/C 없이도 정상 수명이 보장.
